Designed for managers or professionals who want to feel confident taking on a small or mid-sized project, this training from Dr Mike Clayton from OnlinePMcourses gives you everything you need to get your project off to the best start.
About the Project Manager’s Fast Start Program
This is an online course which I’ve worked through myself (although in the spirit of full transparency, I haven’t finished all the modules yet).
I like the fact that it’s bite-sized lessons and that there are templates and handouts to download at convenient points, where they relate to the lesson. It’s easy to navigate and intuitively put together.
In this video that Mike made especially for this article, he talks about what’s in the box. I think it’s a great way to see what you actually get (and it’s more than just video lessons).
Benefits of the Fast Start Program
The Project Manager’s Fast Start Program gives you:
- The equivalent of a day of live training
- 3 PMI PDUs (because that’s always helpful)
- Over 25 videos
- Podcast versions if you prefer to listen to the material
- Over 30 worksheets
- Over 10 templates
- Extra bonus materials (glossary book and extra articles)
The biggest benefit is that Mike is a real person! If you have questions about what you are learning, simply leave him a question and he’ll get back to you. This is huge, and something that a lot of online courses don’t offer. Easy access to a professional project management trainer and expert author is worth the course fee alone.
If you aren’t sure whether online training is right for you, try out the free 4-part video course, Project Management Fundamentals. Even if you are way past the Fundamentals level, it will give you an idea of what taking an online course is like, introduce you to Mike and help you decide if you like the teaching style and materials.
